A plain-weave fabric using stronger twisted yarns in the weft than the warp.
Although the yarns are not very thick, the fabric features fine horizontal ribs as its characteristic texture.
Available in vivid colors, it is commonly used for costumes.
It has more body than georgette but feels smoother than broadcloth.
